Basketball Game Preview: New Hampstead Phoenix vs. Savannah Christian Raiders + Official Tickets

The New Hampstead Phoenix will face off against the Savannah Christian Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. New Hampstead has given up an average of 64.6 points per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

New Hampstead is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against South Gwinnett on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Phoenix had to suffer through a 74-44 loss at the hands of the Comets. The game marked the Phoenix's lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

The losing side was boosted by Mack Smith, who went 5-for-12 en route to 13 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalen Suber, who posted eight points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Savannah Christian). They breezed past Hardeeville to the tune of 73-33 on Tuesday. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Hurricanes recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

New Hampstead now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Savannah Christian, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Everything went New Hampstead's way against Savannah Christian when the teams last played back in January of 2021, as New Hampstead made off with a 62-42 victory. Will the Phoenix repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
