Basketball Game Preview: South View Tigers vs. Seventy-First Falcons

The South View Tigers will face off against the Seventy-First Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. South View knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Seventy-First likes a good challenge.

Last Saturday, South View got the win against Trinity Christian by a conclusive 69-45. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 24 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Danauje Brooks, who posted 32 points along with five assists and five rebounds. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of South View's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordynn Parnell, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 boards.

South View smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 16 consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Seventy-First was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 59-55 to West Charlotte. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

South View has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Seventy-First, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-6.

South View strolled past Seventy-First in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 62-44. Will South View repeat their success, or does Seventy-First have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
