Volleyball Game Preview: Central Lancers vs. George Washington Eagles

The Central Lancers will venture away from home to challenge the George Washington Eagles at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Central took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Friday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Carver High School of Engineering & Science.

Central had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-15, 25-21, 26-24.

George Washington not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since May 21, 2024 (when they won 3-0). They put the hurt on Abraham Lincoln with a sharp 3-0 win. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Railsplitters recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Central's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for George Washington, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
