Volleyball Recap: Rice Takes a Loss

Rice was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Grandview Zebras. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Zebras this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Rice was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-11, 25-19.

Paisley Hayes was the offensive standout of the match as she had ten digs and two aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Rice's loss dropped their record down to 10-19. As for Grandview, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 25-9.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Rice will face off against rival Maypearl at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Grandview is set to take on their familiar foe Palmer at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
