Basketball Preview: Andrew Jackson Academy Warriors vs. Faith Christian Knights
Andrew Jackson Academy is 3-0 against the Knights since November of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Andrew Jackson Academy Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Faith Christian Knights at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Andrew Jackson Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Friday.
Last Friday, Andrew Jackson Academy came up short against the Saints and fell 41-31.
Despite the loss, Andrew Jackson Academy saw an underclassman step up: McKinley Beard scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Beard hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games.
Meanwhile, Faith Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 23-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of Holly Hill Academy. Faith Christian has not had much luck with the Raiders recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Andrew Jackson Academy's loss dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Faith Christian, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-9.
Everything came up roses for Andrew Jackson Academy against the Knights in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 46-10 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Andrew Jackson Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
