Softball Game Preview: West Craven Eagles vs. Croatan Cougars

The West Craven Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Croatan Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. West Craven has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with four straight losses, while Croatan will come in with three straight wins.

West Craven fell victim to Pamlico County and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 11-0 to the Hurricanes. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Eagles have suffered against the Hurricanes since March 8, 2022.

Meanwhile, everything went Croatan's way against Havelock on Tuesday as Croatan made off with a 7-1 victory. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by six runs or more this season.

Croatan's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for West Craven, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

West Craven was able to grind out a solid victory over Croatan in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 4-1. Does West Craven have another victory up their sleeve, or will Croatan turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
