Volleyball Recap: Elgin Takes a Loss

Elgin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Illinois Math & Science Academy Titans.

While Elgin ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-20.

Illinois Math & Science Academy found their leader in sophomore Fiza Shaikh, who had four digs and four aces.

Elgin's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Elgin has already played their next match (against Streamwood), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Illinois Math & Science Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Coal City on the 30th.
