Football Recap: Queen City Starts Season with Loss at Home

Queen City unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 35-26 to the Grace Community Cougars on Friday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it 11 in a row.

Trenton Belk and Malakhi Richardson certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Belk picked up 202 receiving yards and two scores, while Richardson threw for 220 yards and three TDs on only 17 passes. Belk also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing one fumble and making seven total tackles.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Queen City will welcome Harleton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Grace Community, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against First Baptist at 7:00 p.m.
