Baseball Recap: Russell County Has No Trouble Against Marion County

While Russell County put up plenty of runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Marion County. Russell County was the clear victor by a 14-0 margin over Marion County. That's more bragging rights for the Warriors, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Colton Armstrong was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in earned runs (zero). He was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Shane Otipoby, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Ryder Kiesel also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
