Football Recap: Westside Takes a Loss

If Westside was riding high fresh off their 27-0 takedown of Parker last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wolverines took a blow against the Stanton Blue Devils on Wednesday, falling 33-6. While losing is never fun, the Wolverines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 341st, while the Blue Devils are ranked 117th).

Stanton can attribute much of their success to Aiyanna Smiley, who rushed for ten yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also threw for 53 yards and two TDs.

Westside now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Stanton, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.

Looking ahead, Westside will face off against Menendez at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Falcons' defense has only allowed 12.4 points per game this season, so the Wolverines' offense will have their work cut out for them. Stanton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
