Baseball Recap: Cumberland Valley Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

Six must be Cumberland Valley's lucky number: they beat State College with that score not once but twice on Tuesday. The Eagles beat the Little Lions by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 6-2. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Little Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Braydon Shuttlesworth spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Micah LaPila was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Eli Bryant, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Cumberland Valley pushed their record up to 13-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for State College, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-10.

Cumberland Valley has already played their next match, a 5-0 defeat against Mifflin County on the 7th. As for State College, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 7-5 win against Central Dauphin on the 7th.
