Softball Recap: Windham Comes Up Short

Windham was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 12-9 to the Mathews Mustangs. The Bombers were not able to make up for their loss to the Mustangs from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

Makenzi Blockinger and Aralynn Woofter stepped up to the plate in a big way. Blockinger went 3-for-4 with five RBI and two doubles, while Woofter went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Alexandria Hudak, who went 3-for-4 with one triple.

Windham's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Mathews, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-10 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Windham will venture away from home to take on Cardinal at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bombers will need to watch out since the Huskies have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. As for Mathews, they will head out on the road to challenge Maplewood at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rockets' pitching crew has only allowed 1.1 runs per game this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
