Basketball Game Preview: Lake Shore Shorians vs. Marine City Mariners

Lake Shore hasn't had much luck against Marine City recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Lake Shore Shorians will venture away from home to square off against the Marine City Mariners at 7:00 p.m. Marine City took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Lake Shore, who comes in off a win.

Lake Shore is headed into the match having just posted their biggest win since December 11, 2024 on Wednesday. They blew past Mott, posting a 55-17 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Shorians.

Meanwhile, Marine City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 29-26 heartbreaker at the hands of North Branch. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Mariners have suffered since February 23, 2024.

Lake Shore's win bumped their record up to 5-14. As for Marine City, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12.

Lake Shore was able to grind out a solid victory over Marine City in their previous meeting back in January, winning 28-21. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lake Shore since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
