Recap: Silver Stage Nighthawks vs. West Wendover Wolverines
The Silver Stage Nighthawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their 11th straight loss. They were beaten by West Wendover 44-15. Silver Stage has struggled against West Wendover recently, as their game on Saturday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
West Wendover got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nataly Gonzalez out in front who scored seven points along with nine rebounds and two steals. It was the first time this season that Gonzalez pulled down eight or more rebounds. Savannah Jimenez was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
Silver Stage's loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-17. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 18.0 points per game. As for West Wendover, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-8.
Silver Stage will head out on the road to take on Pershing County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Silver Stage comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for West Wendover, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against North Tahoe at 6:00 p.m. West Wendover is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
