Basketball Game Preview: Cleveland Rams vs. Garner Trojans

The Cleveland Rams will take on the Garner Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Cleveland narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past South Garner 39-37. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while the Titans are ranked 266th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

James Harris was his usual excellent self, putting up 11 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jabari Green, who posted nine points.

Meanwhile, Garner entered their tilt with South Garner on Friday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They were the clear victor by a 75-52 margin over the Titans. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 22 points or more this season.

Garner pushed their record up to 14-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.2 points per game. As for Cleveland, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-2.

Cleveland was dealt a bruising 81-50 defeat at the hands of Garner in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Cleveland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
