Basketball Recap: Terra Ceia Christian Has No Trouble Against Pungo Christian Academy

Terra Ceia Christian hadn't done well against Pungo Christian Academy recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Knights blew past the Raiders 76-55. The Knights pushed the score to 54-31 by the end of the third, a deficit the Raiders cut but never quite recovered from.

Ryan Ange had a dynamite game, dropping a double-double with 24 points and 14 boards. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in each of the last eight games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Aidan Persons, who posted 21 points and seven boards.

Terra Ceia Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in eight consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Terra Ceia Christian's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Pungo Christian Academy, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Terra Ceia Christian will venture away from home to square off against Pamlico Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pungo Christian Academy, they will head out to take on The Oakwood School at 7:30 p.m. on December 2. The game will give the Raiders their first taste of in-conference action this season.
