Baseball Game Preview: New Hampton Chickasaws vs. Osage Green Devils

The New Hampton Chickasaws will face off against the Osage Green Devils on Tuesday. New Hampton's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Osage's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between New Hampton and Oelwein, and Oelwein kept the tradition alive. The Chickasaws fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 3-2 on Thursday.

Meanwhile, while Osage put up some runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Central Springs. The Green Devils were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over the Panthers. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since June 14, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Osage pushed their record up to 14-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for New Hampton, their loss dropped their record down to 24-9.

New Hampton was able to grind out a solid victory over Osage when the teams last played back in July of 2024, winning 9-5. Do the Chickasaws have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Green Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
