Volleyball Recap: Sequoyah Has No Trouble Against Houston County

Sequoyah had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Houston County Bears on Wednesday. That's more bragging rights for the Chiefs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-16, 25-20.

Elle Gemberling paced Sequoyah's offense, picking up ten kills. Gemberling got some help from Mackinley Parrott and her 28 assists. Gemberling was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Sequoyah is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That somehow still isn't as good as their 21-5 record this season. As for Houston County, their defeat ended a six-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 22-15.

Sequoyah didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against East Paulding on the 18th. Houston County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
