Basketball Recap: Lakeside Takes a Loss

Lakeside lost against Paloma Valley last Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Lakeside Lancers had to suffer through a 64-36 loss at the hands of the Paloma Valley Wildcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Lancers have suffered against the Wildcats since January 26, 2018.

When it comes to explaining why Lakeside lost, don't look at Maurice Turner. Despite the final result, he went 7 for 10 on his way to 15 points. What's more, Turner also posted a 70% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2024.

Lakeside has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-21 record this season. As for Paloma Valley, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-13.

Lakeside does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Paloma Valley, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Wildcats take on the Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on February 12th.
