Softball Recap: Chico Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Chico had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with an 11-8 win over the Fernley Vaqueros on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Chloe Hines and Addi Hosier did most of the damage at the plate: Hines went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Hosier went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI Hosier has posted since back in April of 2024. Olivia Murphy also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Chico hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Chico's record is now 8-9. As for Fernley, with the loss, they broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-7.

Chico didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-1 victory against Colusa on the 25th. As for Fernley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, an 8-3 win against Red Bluff on the 25th.
