Soccer Game Preview: Junipero Serra vs. Burlingame

The Junipero Serra Padres will take on the Burlingame Panthers in a holiday battle at at 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Junipero Serra is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Menlo-Atherton on Saturday. Junipero Serra fell just short of Menlo-Atherton by a score of 2-1. The loss was the Padres' first of the season.

Their goal came courtesy of Nate Coughlin, who's now up to four this season.

Meanwhile, Burlingame kept a clean sheet against Hollister on Saturday. They had just enough and edged the Haybalers out 1-0.

Having lost for the first time this season, Junipero Serra fell to 2-1. As for Burlingame, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
