Heathwood Hall Episcopal has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Augusta Christian Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Heathwood Hall Episcopal focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Heathwood Hall Episcopal came up short against Hammond and fell 49-36. While losing is never fun, Heathwood Hall Episcopal can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 178th, while Hammond is ranked 43rd).
Heathwood Hall Episcopal's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Chase Reuss, who scored 12 points, and Nic Nichols who scored 14 points along with five rebounds. Chip Ravenell was another key contributor, scoring five points.
Meanwhile, Augusta Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their 13-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Cardinal Newman by a score of 54-51. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Augusta Christian has suffered yet this season.
Heathwood Hall Episcopal bumped their record down to 5-11 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Augusta Christian, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 15-5.
Heathwood Hall Episcopal was taken down by Augusta Christian 99-49 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Heathwood Hall Episcopal avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
