Baseball Game Preview: Elgin Maroons vs. Larkin Royals

For the second straight game, Elgin will face off against Larkin. The Maroons will be playing at home against the Royals at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Elgin barely beat Larkin the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Maroons' pitcher stepped up to hand the Royals a 10-0 shutout on Monday. The game marked the Maroons' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Briar Dekarske and Jacob Rufino did most of the damage at the plate: Dekarske scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Rufino scored two runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits Rufino has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jesus Garcia, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Larkin is on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9. As for Elgin, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
