Softball Recap: Murphysboro Takes a Loss

Murphysboro was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 12-2 to the Marshall County Marshals.

Macey Alexander was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.

Murphysboro's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Marshall County, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

Murphysboro wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 9-8 loss against McCracken County on the 29th. As for Marshall County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-1 win against Marengo on the 29th.
