Football Game Preview: Kickapoo Chiefs vs. Lebanon Yellowjackets

The Kickapoo Chiefs will head out to challenge the Lebanon Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Kickapoo is looking for their season's first victory.

Kickapoo is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Nixa on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Chiefs were dealt a 56-7 loss at the hands of the Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Chiefs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri football rankings (they are ranked 215th, while the Eagles are ranked 21st).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lebanon, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 56-28 win over Ozark. The Yellowjackets haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Kickapoo better keep an eye on Brayden Christian. He was instrumental in Lebanon's win, rushing for 125 yards and three scores. Those 125 rushing yards gave Christian a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Beckett York, who rushed for 73 yards and one touchdown.

Kickapoo's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Lebanon, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Kickapoo was dealt a bruising 49-21 loss at the hands of Lebanon in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Chiefs, Jax Glendenning (who rushed for 216 yards and three TDs) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
