Softball Recap: Columbia Capitals vs. Lower Richland Diamond Hornets

Columbia never got on the board in their matchup last Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Lower Richland on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged the Lower Richland Diamond Hornets out 17-15. The win was nothing new for Columbia as they're now sitting on four straight.

Kamyia Henry was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Henry is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's stolen at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Madison Butler, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Columbia's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-4. As for Lower Richland, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.

Columbia will be playing at home against Blacksburg at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lower Richland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
