Baseball Game Preview: Keystone Heights Indians vs. Ridgeview Panthers

The Keystone Heights Indians will take on the Ridgeview Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Keystone Heights is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.

Keystone Heights is headed into the game having just posted their closest win since March 7, 2024 on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over Middleburg.

Keystone Heights let Andrew Wilson and Austin Smith run wild. Wilson scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Smith went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Destin Harnage, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Ridgeview, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Eagle's View a 5-0 shutout on Friday.

Tripp Hoffine looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Ridgeview's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Gabe Torres, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Jose Morales was another, scoring two runs and stealing a base.

Keystone Heights' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-2. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing nine hits in those games compared to only five in the others. As for Ridgeview, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-4.
