Softball Recap: Three Straight Home Victories for Birdville

With a playoff win on the line, Birdville rose to the challenge on Saturday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Abilene Eagles a 4-0 shutout. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 11-1 victory on Friday.

Birdville's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 30-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Abilene, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 21-11.

Coming up, Birdville will challenge Aledo on Saturday. The Bearcats will roll in looking for their 15th straight win, something the Hawks surely won't give up without a fight. Abilene does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
