Basketball Recap: Make It 22 in a Row for Newberry

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Newberry had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They breezed past the Interlachen Rams to the tune of 81-31. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Newberry got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaleb Woods out in front who posted eight points along with five assists and four steals. Another player making a difference was Jacob Green, who scored 15 points.

Woods wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Newberry was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Despite the loss, Interlachen still got an impressive performance from Kemontae Nixon, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 12 rebounds. Nixon has been hot, having posted 11 or more boards the last five times he's played.

The victory keeps them at an undefeated 22-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.6 points over those games. As for Interlachen, their record is now 12-14.

Newberry wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 75-38 win against Bradford on the 7th. Interlachen does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
