Basketball Recap: Telluride Comes Up Short

Telluride was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a 76-31 loss at the hands of the Bayfield Wolverines. The Miners were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-18.

When it comes to explaining why Telluride lost, don't look at Langston Silbergeld. Despite the final result, he posted nine points.

Bayfield had a senior duo take command as Cooper Roderick went 7 of 10 from beyond the arc on his way to 30 points and four steals and Lincoln Williams almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Roderick has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Vincent McCullough, who scored six points and nine rebounds.

Telluride's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Bayfield, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-3.

Telluride didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-49 win against Dolores on the 14th. As for Bayfield, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 61-47 loss against San Juan on the 14th.
