Burke has gone 9-1 against Omaha Northwest recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The two teams will meet in a canine-themed contest at 5:15 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Burke is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Westview just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They were outmatched by the Wolverines and fell 84-49. The matchup marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Burke's loss came about despite a quality game from Marcus Buchanan, who posted 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Rummel, who put up five points.

Meanwhile, Omaha Northwest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by Buena Vista 76-42. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 227th, while the Bison are ranked 77th).

The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in DaWayne Kearney and LC Doss. Doss had a great game and went 8 of 10 on his way to 24 points in addition to eight assists and five boards. Meanwhile, Kearney did his best for the losing side, putting up seven points.

Omaha Northwest's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Burke, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Burke has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 32.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Omaha Northwest struggles in that department as they've been averaging 23.7 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
