Basketball Recap: Weskan Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Weskan extended their home winning streak to ten games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Trey Allen. The Weskan Coyotes took their match on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 72-41 victory over the Cheylin Cougars thanks in part to Allen, who almost dropped a double-double on 37 points and nine rebounds. The contest was his 33rd in a row with at least ten points.

Austin Smith was another key player, putting up five assists. Those five assists gave him a new career-high.

Cheylin's loss came despite strong showings from Landon Schoenberger and Andrew Wright. Schoenberger posted 14 points and five assists, while Wright put up 12 points. Wright is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kohen Pochop, who scored five points and six boards.

Weskan's win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Cheylin, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Weskan will host Rolla on Friday. As for Cheylin, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Wallace County on February 11th.
