Softball Recap: Hilltop Wins Going Away Against Delta

Hilltop won the last time they faced Delta and things went their way on Saturday too. The Cadets put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 12-3 win. Considering the Cadets have won seven contests by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Giada Rising was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Libbie Baker, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Kenley Routt, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-3.

Hilltop's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Delta, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Hilltop beat the Panthers by a score of 13-3 later that day.
