Recap: West Trojans vs. Clifton Cubs
The West Trojans came tearing into Tuesday's game with 14 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 32-17 win over Clifton. Given West's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 225th, while Clifton is ranked 549th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Clifton's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Meagan Henderson, who scored four points along with two steals and two blocks.
West pushed their record up to 23-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Clifton, their loss dropped their record down to 15-10.
West will head out on the road to take on Keene at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Keene is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Clifton, they will be playing at home against Maypearl at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
