Football Game Preview: Carver Yellowjackets vs. McMichael Phoenix + How To Watch

The Carver Yellowjackets will head out on the road to square off against the McMichael Phoenix at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Carver's defense has only allowed 8.3 points per game this season, so McMichael's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Carver is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest defeat since October 25, 2024 last Friday. They had to suffer through a 44-8 loss at the hands of Reidsville. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 209th, while the Rams are ranked 52nd).

Meanwhile, McMichael's game on Friday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They and Morehead were almost perfectly matched up, but the Phoenix suffered a 13-12 loss. Surprisingly, this marked the Phoenix's fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

McMichael's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Carver, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Carver suffered a grim 52-32 defeat to McMichael in their previous meeting back in September of 2022. Thankfully for the Yellowjackets, Jayden Moore (who rushed for 217 yards and five scores while picking up 7.5 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
