Volleyball Recap: Scott Comes Up Short

Scott lost against Oakley back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Beavers fell just short of the Plainsmen by a score of 2-1. While the Beavers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Plainsmen 25-20 in the first set.

Scott started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-11, 25-13.

Peyton Gentry paced Scott's offense, picking up eight kills. Gentry got some help from Kinleigh Wren and her 16 assists.

Scott's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Oakley, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Scott wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Hays on the 30th. As for Oakley, they will take on Trego at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The match will give the Plainsmen their first taste of in-conference action this season.
