Spokane kicked off their season on the road on Monday and hit a couple of potholes. They wound up on the wrong side of a tough 18-0 walloping at the hands of the Marionville Comets. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Spokane in their matchups with Marionville: they've now lost three in a row.

For Marionville's part, Ashlin Carr made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Carr was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
