Recap: Great Mills Hornets vs. Thomas Stone Cougars
The Great Mills Hornets waltzed into their game on Friday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They secured a 41-35 W over Thomas Stone. That's another feather in the cap for Great Mills, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Telisa Adams continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was A'naija Bush, who scored five points along with 18 rebounds and six steals.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gabrielle Malone, who scored 13 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Malone has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Destini Shorts, who scored five points along with 16 rebounds and four blocks.
Great Mills' victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-5. As for Thomas Stone, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.
