Baseball Recap: Brookwood Victorious

Brookwood won the last time they faced West Blocton and things went their way on Monday too. The Panthers came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 8-5.

Andrew Thomas was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off one hit. Thomas was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other pitching news, Brantley Patrick looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Markeil Williams, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Green, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Brookwood now has a winning record of 12-11. As for West Blocton, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.

Looking ahead, Brookwood will take on Central at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West Blocton, they will face off against Maplesville at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
