Football Recap: Davenport's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

After flying high against Haines City two weeks ago, Davenport came back down to earth. The Broncos fell 28-24 to the Forest Wildcats on Friday. While the Broncos had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Wildcats 18-14.

Keziyrehun Rivers had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 141 yards and one score for Forest. The Wildcats are 4-1 when Rivers posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise.

Davenport moved to 4-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Forest, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Davenport will face off against Horizon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Forest, they will take on West Port at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will be up against the Wolf Pack's rather soft defense (which has allowed 26.38 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
