Recap: San Pasqual Valley Warriors vs. Trivium Prep Crimson Knights
This season hasn't been kind to The San Pasqual Valley Warriors, who are still winless after their ninth match. They were dealt a 76-12 loss at the hands of Trivium Prep on Friday. While losing is never fun, San Pasqual Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 1037th in California, while Trivium Prep is ranked 174th in Arizona).
Although San Pasqual Valley took the loss, they still got scores from Marc Gallardo and Elias Espinoza .
Leading Trivium Prep to victory were Cruz Ramirez and Vern Wolfley. Ramirez rushed for 127 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries, while Wolfley rushed for 91 yards and three touchdowns.
San Pasqual Valley's loss was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. Sadly, the team can't blame their woes on tough opposition, as that stretch included 2-7 Trivium Prep and 2-7 Mountainside (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 44.4% over those games). As for Trivium Prep, their win bumped their record up to 2-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. San Pasqual Valley will take on Parker at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Parker will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last. As for Trivium Prep, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Antelope at 7:00 p.m.
