Volleyball Recap: Centralia Snags Third Win in Last Four Games

Centralia lost to Carbondale back in October of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Orphans came out on top against the Terriers by a score of 2-0.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Centralia took both sets by at least 16 points. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-8.

Marley Edson paced Centralia's offense, picking up 11 kills. Edson got some help from Rorie Lambert and her 14 assists. Lambert was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Centralia has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Carbondale, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Centralia will be taking part in a tournament against Hillsboro at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Carbondale, they will welcome Cahokia at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
