Preview: Holy Cross Crusaders vs. Accelerate Christian Warriors
The Holy Cross Crusaders will be playing at home against the Accelerate Christian Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Holy Cross comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Last Tuesday, Holy Cross was beaten by Midessa 39-11. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Holy Cross has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Accelerate Christian scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Holy Cross Academy at home to the tune of 70-43. Accelerate Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 24 points or more this season.
Accelerate Christian relied on the efforts of Danity Diaz, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds, and Audrey Jaramillo, who dropped a double-double on 38 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jaramillo has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Kreusel, who scored six points along with ten rebounds.
Holy Cross' loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Accelerate Christian, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.
