Preview: Broomfield Eagles vs. Prairie View Thunderhawks

Two dominant guards in Olivia Kim and Celicia Robles are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. Having just played yesterday, the Broomfield Eagles will get right back to it and host the Prairie View Thunderhawks at 6:30 p.m. on February 7th. Broomfield has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 304 points over their last five matchups.

Broomfield can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Brighton 67-10 at home. While fans of Broomfield might be used to big wins, the 57-point margin marked the team's biggest victory yet this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Broomfield to victory, but perhaps none more so than Paige Gilpatrick, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Gilpatrick hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Ej Harper was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Prairie View's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Monarch, falling 71-35. While losing is never fun, Prairie View can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 138th, while Monarch is ranked 44th).

Broomfield is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for Prairie View, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.

Everything came up roses for Broomfield against Prairie View in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 62-24 victory. Will Broomfield repeat their success, or does Prairie View have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
