Softball Recap: Master's Academy's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Master's Academy had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 13-run drubbing they dealt Atlantic Christian on Tuesday. The Patriots blew past the Sharks 15-2. Considering the Patriots have won ten games by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Scarlett Grall made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was even better at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.

In other batting news, Alison Viersma was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Phoenix Henderson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

The win (which was Master's Academy's sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Atlantic Christian, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Master's Academy will venture away from home to square off against City of Life Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Atlantic Christian, they will head out to challenge Berean Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.11 runs per game on average), something the Sharks will no doubt try to take advantage of.
