Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for East Gaston

East Gaston gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with an 8-3 win over the Bessemer City Yellow Jackets. Winning may never get old, but the Warriors sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Zane Dodd was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Dylan Wright was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base.

Dodd wasn't the only one working in the hit department: East Gaston kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. East Gaston is a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

East Gaston pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Bessemer City, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Gaston will challenge Cherryville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bessemer City, they will face off against Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Bessemer City is facing Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy at the right time seeing as Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
