Recap: Apprentice Academy Red Wolves vs. Queen's Grant Stallions
Sadly, the Apprentice Academy Red Wolves are still looking for their first win of the season after 11 games. They were dealt a 96-53 loss at the hands of Queen's Grant on Wednesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Apprentice Academy in their matchups with Queen's Grant: they've now lost seven in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Apprentice Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Radear Watson. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 27 points and nine rebounds. That was a full 50.9% of Apprentice Academy's points, marking the ninth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Omri Gwehi, who scored 11 points.
Apprentice Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Queen's Grant, the victory got them back to even at 13-13.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Apprentice Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Sugar Creek at 5:30 p.m. on February 8th. Hopefully Sugar Creek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday. As for Queen's Grant, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Carolina International at 7:00 p.m. on February 8th. Carolina International is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
