Basketball Recap: Compass - Midtown Comes Up Short

Compass - Midtown lost against Memphis Rise Academy back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Compass - Midtown took a 65-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Memphis Rise Academy.

Memphis Rise Academy had a senior duo take command as Ambren Tyson shot 61% from the field to rack up 26 points and Ta'Varreo Smith went 8-for-11 en route to 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Darius Gates, who posted ten points.

Compass - Midtown's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Memphis Rise Academy, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Compass - Midtown is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Westwood at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Memphis Rise Academy, they will head out to square off against University at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
