Baseball Recap: North Comes Up Short

North lost against El Segundo back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The North Saxons took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the El Segundo Eagles. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last seven times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Carter Murakami was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over 5.1 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024.

North dropped their record down to 3-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for El Segundo, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-0-1.

Coming up, North will challenge Mary Star of the Sea at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. As for El Segundo, they will square off against Redondo Union at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. El Segundo's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Redondo Union's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
