Volleyball Game Preview: Thornton Fractional South Red Wolves vs. Evergreen Park Mustangs

The Thornton Fractional South Red Wolves will head out on the road to face off against the Evergreen Park Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Thornton Fractional South turned things around against Crete-Monee on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Warriors, sneaking past 2-1.

Thornton Fractional South had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 11-25, 25-20, 25-14.

Meanwhile, Evergreen Park was able to grind out a solid victory over Tinley Park on Thursday, taking the game 2-0.

Evergreen Park not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Tinley Park between 15 and 17 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-15.

Thornton Fractional South better focus on containing Tess Lee and Madison Majka as the pair were huge in Evergreen Park's win. Lee had seven aces and three digs, while Majka had 13 digs and one assist. That's the most digs Majka has posted over her last 14 contests. Brooke Campbell also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Evergreen Park was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in four consecutive matchups.

Thornton Fractional South's record now sits at 13-11. As for Evergreen Park, their record is now 12-7.
